Michael J. Renzi 
Executive Director

Mike has over 20 years of experience in the Plastics Industry, including experience in specialty additives for compounds. As Executive Director for Spherix, Mike leads new business development and the Spherix team of sales, operations, and product development.

He began his career in his hometown of Leominster, MA, as a manager for his family’s blow molding business. He then held progressive roles in the plastics industry as plant manager and commercial sales. In 2008, he became a business development manager for a $1B custom compound company, cultivating customer and market interests into profitable commercial realities.

Mike holds a BS in Management and an MBA in Global Leadership from Johnson & Wales University, Providence, RI. Mike has always had a passion for making polymer systems sustainable. At Spherix, he is grateful to have an opportunity to do so.

Bill Black
Sales Engineer

Bill manages Technical Sales and Market Development for the rubber, silicone, plastics, and CASE markets at Spherix. He serves a vital role in understanding the specific needs and desires of our clients, helping communicate and implement technical solutions. Bill’s commitment to ongoing relationships embodies Spherix’s desire to be a valued partner in sustainable technical solutions for each company and market we serve.

After graduating from Auburn University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bill was commissioned as a U.S. Naval Officer in 1989. He was “winged” as a Naval Aviator in 1991 and served on active duty for 10 years. After his service, Bill was a First Officer for United Airlines until September 1999. He then worked as a project engineer in the valve industry for three years and has since worked in Sales and Marketing of technical products.

Jeff Heath
Technical Manager

Jeff has over 20 years of experience in chemical manufacturing and operations management. As Technical Manager for Spherix, he focuses on developing and optimizing Spherix microspheres in the Coatings, High-Performance Concrete, Polymer, and Rubber markets and is responsible for manufacturing, quality control, and process engineering.

Jeff holds a BS degree in Chemistry from Erskine College, Due West, South Carolina, and an MBA from The Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. He is Lean Six Sigma certified and is committed to providing high-quality, sustainable solutions for the polymer market.
